Ceramic Sculpture

I photographed some locally made ceramic sculpture recently.

Actress Headshots

I had the privilege of doing some headshots last week. Here is one of my favorite of the bunch.

David and Tara engagement pictures

I met with David and Tara recently to take their engagement pictures. They both work for airlines and were in town for a couple of days. Here are a few of them.

New Orleans Experience

10/25/07

I flew to New Orleans last week for a photoshoot. I was surprised at the broken-down state of the city as a result of Hurricane Katrina, and it's been two years. Tons of houses were still in ruins and many of the stores were still boarded up. I also noticed that about every eighth house had people outside working on it. Fifth wheels seem to be a popular housing substitute while the home owners are waiting for their homes to be rebuilt. I would love to go back soon and document some of the derelict buildings and see what becomes of them in a couple of years.

Victoria BC Shoot

10/9/07

I'm flying out to Victoria, BC tomorrow morning. I was hired to photograph a grocery store. I am excited to see Victoria again and will post some pictures once I get back.

Here are some images:

Eric's Senior Pictures

Here are a couple of pictures I took of Eric, a senior at North Eugene High School. It was sunny that morning but we were able to find some good shady spots.

Jake and Vicki's Wedding

I shot Jake and Vicki's wedding in Bandon, Oregon. It turned out to be a great day for an outdoor wedding. Here are a couple of the shots.

Lucy at Two Months

Lucy is two months old. She's smiling and making more happy baby noises. Last night she slept for six hours straight. We're hoping that keeps up. Lucy is off visiting her aunt Rachel today at the beach.

Cafe Yumm!

I had the opportunity to photograph the new Café Yumm in Eugene. If you get a chance stop in and try the Yumm bowls. Here are a few pictures:

Wildhorse Canyon

I went out with my father, grandfather and two of his buddies to Wildhorse Canyon near the town of Antelope in Central Oregon. Wildhorse is a Young Life campground which had previously been the property of the guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. We were there to work on weed control for the camp. For this trip we were concentrating our efforts on eliminating the invasive scotch thistle (Onopordum acanthium). My grandfather and his buddies kept busy cutting off the heads of old plants and collecting the seeds, which if left could produce thousands of plants over the next few years. The seed can lay dormant for up to four years before germinating so even if we were to kill all the plants the seeds in those pods could spring up new plants in the next several years. My father and I walked around the property spot spraying the scotch thistle where ever we could find it.
It was a beautiful place and I wouldn't mind going back.

Here are a couple pictures of our trip:

I had the privilege of photographing the Excelsior Inn on 13th Avenue, near U of O. It's a wonderful inn and restaurant. The Excelsior was built in 1912 and had been a sorority house until 1972. It has recently been renovated into a 14 room bed and breakfast. Everything is professionally designed with a European flavor. If you're in the area stop by and have lunch.

Here are some of the pictures I took:
